FINGERS IN TRIGGER
It is a trapping of the flexor tendon and causes the finger to become blocked. When it advances it can also produce pain and functional limitation of the hand. The treatment can be with medication and rest and in some cases with surgery.
CARNO TUNNEL SYNDROME
It is a compression of the median nerve in the wrist (carpal tunnel) that presents with numbness of the thumb, index and middle finger there may be decreased strength, atrophy and pain. Surgery is recommended when the symptoms are constant and long-term.
FRACTURES AND LUXATIONS
They are very common injuries in the hand at work or in sports, each bone has its particular treatment and definitely all need a type of treatment either with plaster or with surgery all in order that the function of the hand is better. It is very important to treat these injuries when they just happen for a better prognosis.
INJURIES OF THE TENDONES
In the hand we have different types of tendons that perform specific functions of the fingers or hand and when they cut or accidentally injured they must be repaired with surgery in the first days of the injury.
Arthritis of the hand can be for different reasons and some of them can be operated with very good results, for example the arthritis of the thumb (metacarpal trapezius) that is very common in the population, manifests with pain and disability to hold objects with the thumb for example: turning the key when opening a door uncovering a jar or brushing teeth. It is important to know that surgery exists to completely correct these symptoms.
INJURIES OF THE BRAQUIAL PLEXUS
The brachial plexus is a peripheral nervous structure that is responsible for the mobility and sensitivity of the entire upper extremity (arm, forearm and hand). When it is damaged by accidents in the adult and childbirth in children, it produces a paralysis of the arm, it depends on the damaged roots which part is paralyzed. There are surgeries to improve this paralysis if they go on time with the specialist.
